Fruiting hell

So, layer one for the Birthday cake for the weekend.
I followed a basic fruit cake recipe, making some additions and changes here and there. Lots of fresh apples and raisins in there. Not sure how this will keep, as the weekend is a few days away and I’ve read that apples in cake make it go off faster. I plan to marzipan and ice the cake shortly though so maybe this will help.

Been ‘feeding’ the cake with boiled apple juice so it’s lovely and moist.

If this goes to plan, I may ask my grandma if I can do the Christmas cake. Or just make one for my friends. As it was lots of fun and smelt gorgeous. Even had a little lick of the batter myself!

Baking is definitely helping me with my eating disorder. It’s giving me a focus. A way to be around food without obsessing over the amount of calories. I hope anyway.
